TfSE Centre of Excellence | Pipeline prioritisation and financial planning

Aims and Outcomes

With limited time and resources how can LTA’s prioritise and plan a pipeline of schemes to deliver at the same time as those progressing?

With no guarantee of future funding what how can LTA’s prioritise

Through the Centre of excellence can TfSE provide an opportunity to discuss and share experience

Format

A closed workshop for LTA technical staff to share experience and learn from each other about issues faced retrospectively and moving forward in the current climate of rising costs and low funding certainty.

The session would not be recorded and is intended to be held as a safe space for colleagues in similar roles across the region to share difficulties that LTAs face in progressing infrastructure schemes from prioritisation through to funding business case stages.

Places should be limited to 3 per authority. Should you wish to express you interest in attending this event, please email coe@transportforthesoutheast.org.uk

Proposed discussion points

1. How do LTA’s prioritise schemes to take forward and how much of a factor is development costs in this process

2. With an understanding that costs have risen sharply from market providers of business case support what are LTA’s experience of:

• Cost of business case support

• Quality of business case support (Value for Money)

• Experiences of Contract Consultants v Going to Market

3. What can be done to support Business case funding to deliver a healthy pipeline of schemes with a funding path.

4. Experience of development work that has been completed, stalled and become outdated needing review before further progression
